Maybe. Prolife asked me for an example of hate crime and I gave him. I wish I did not have to use "white guys" as crimes are committed by scums in all races. Any hate crime committed by any group is loathsome. If hate crime legislation guarantees against crimes committed in the name of race or ethnicity or sexual orientation, I am all for it. If you convince me that regular sentencing adequately addresses and deters potential hate crime then maybe; but since it has been argued that regular sentencing alone does not address the issue, it is appropriate to consider hate crime legislation.
