MSN mobile internet already has 1.5Million users. MSN itself probably grew 100% in subscribers from 1.8 to 3.6million by Sept Q. Take WebTV at 1million. That is about 4.6million users compared around 2million users last year this time. This is what I meant by MSFT is a not a desktop PC company anymore.

Redmond, Washington, Oct. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. released a new version of software for its MSN
Mobile service that will allow users to purchase event tickets and read news stories from the Internet using a wireless
phone.

MSN Mobile 3.0 adds features such as the ability to search for events from Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch Inc.'s
Web sites and purchase tickets through Ticketmaster using a cellular phone, said MSN product manager Sarah Lefko.
The software also lets users view calendars and customize start menus to make it quicker to use features like stock
quotes.

The service, which Microsoft said has 1.5 million users, delivers electronic mail
and information like weather and news to wireless customers at Sprint Corp.,
Verizon Wireless and Nextel Communications Inc. Lefko declined to specify
how much revenue the company derives from the service.

"Similar to Gateway, Microsoft is a beyond the box company. 30%+ of microsoft's business today is non-desktop. That 30% is in MSN, Enterprise server s/w, carpoint, msnbc, homeadvisor, expedia, pocket PC, wireless s/w. That 1/3rd of business is most likely growing at 30 - 50% rate. That is a terrific growth rate."

What are you talking about? Microsoft's non-OS, non-Office-Suite businesses lose about 1.5 BILLION dollars a year. How is that 30% of their business? Is it 30% of their expenses maybe? And if that increases by 30-50% a year, how is that terrific?
