Funny that you mention INTC. That's the whole thing today, isn't it? If the outlook is bleak for INTC's fourth quarter, AMD will probably test that 200-day moving average on the weekly chart at 16 1/2. The fear is that MPU prices could decrease drastically if INTC unloads its product. Past quarters aren't proof of anything. It's all about expectations for future quarters -- and about fear.

Stribe re <<...AMD's stock is doing poorly that their dropping stock price does not necessarily reflect accurately how they are doing as a company...>>

In a long term it will. If the market is correct in pricing AMD, then AMD is headed for another defeat against Intel next year. I think market is right in predicting these things more often than it is wrong. I am betting that the market is wrong this time.

Over a long term, stock price follows earnings. No question about it. Short term, stocks are traded based on many things and none of them is the intrinsic value of a part of profitable company.

It takes a lot longer than a few quarters to get respected like INTC, SUNW, EMC ... It took these companies several years, and they did not have over 10 years of bad result to start with like AMD had just last year.

Is AMD is for real? or just a lucky company who is taking advantage of Intel. That is the question, everything else is just noise.
