What was the PE at the time of the Micron sale, John, or at the time of all the analyst browbeating that the sale should be treated as normal income? What percentage of Intel's earnings that quarter was it? If you break it out, what PE was Intel getting on the other stuff, if you value Intel's $10gig or so capital portfolio like a conventional fund?

Intel can do what it wants, of course, it's the gorilla. Sometimes, though, what goes around comes around. I was always puzzled about how the analysts gave Intel a lot more leeway on padding out earnings with investment gains than they were willing to give Microsoft.
