Senator Murcowski (sp?) from Alaska is the most drill-anywhere any whatever-cost Senator in Washington. He receibes an F from the Sierra Club. That grade is reserved for those who just don't give a damn what we do to our public lands so long as the people who pay for his campaigns make lots of money. He doesn't represent the people, he represents the oil companies. The release from the reserve was a popular decision and made the oil prices go down 5 cents. It popped the wild speculation and that was a good thing. The bullish trading in oil futures was getting so riculous at the time that it went way beyond any supply problems. It was about to hit $40 a barrel when Clinton acted. Bush of course had to protest. Why? Because he protests anything positive C-G does, and because his people don't want the oil prices to go down. Where do you think his money comes from? Putting the oil lobby in charge of our government is a very dangerous thing. To some of us it's tantamount to a one-industry coup d'eata if they can pull it off. Just think, the entire White House controlled and a part of the oil business. And creeps like Murcowksi finally getting his chance to kill the Golden Goose. Wildlife, timber, ocean, fisheries, rivers, air - all in jeopardy here. Maybe some of you don't give a damn but a lot of us do. If you disagree I have two words for you - Exxon Valdez.
