Apsect Comm. Corp Aspect Communications reported Q3 revenues and earnings that at first glance were in line with expectations. Total revenues of $145.5 million increased 12% year-over-year and 5% sequentially and were $3.6 million above our estimate. Reported cash EPS of $0.00 versus $0.00 were in line with our estimate and the Street consensus. However, these results included a net after tax gain of $4.7 million from the sale of marketable securities. Without that gain EPS would have been ($0.09). All important software sales rose 70% year-over-year and 11% sequentially to $52.4 million, $2.4 million above our estimate. Aspect hired 75 additional sales people during the quarter resulting in higher operating expenses than estimated but establishing a solid foundation for future revenue growth and market share gains. We are leaving our Q4 revenue estimate unchanged at $158.8 million but have raised our 2001 estimate to $760.8 from $720 million. It was also announced that CFO Kevin Parker resigned. << Sounds slightly positive to me. BTW, I scooped post number 1900, a double zero. That for sure will propel the stock!!! Bob T.
