Anindo, I don't think DSL is at the heart of the network build out at all. Besides, TERN also reported, beat the street and quadrupled revenues.

I2 and MERQ also beat estimates. I2 has 35% sequential growth.

The largest part of network growth is still infra-structure, for Internet, company intranets, and network storage, no? I have DSL and love it, but it might not be the winning strategy. It competes against cable, high speed wireless and fiber to the home.

Regards,
Tom

Anindo - from the Covad report today:

"Growth in subscriber lines continued to accelerate as Covad added 67,000 subscribers during the quarter, an increase of 49 percent from 138,000 lines at June 30, 2000 to 205,000 lines at September 30, 2000."

I've never followed CMTN, so I don't know what their problems were. I'm just addressing the idea that CMTN's results are a sign of a network disaster looming.

Regards,
Tom

That may be company-specific. Virata preannounced overdelivery, etc.
