You misread my post.

I meant stock manipulation by analysts such as Jon Joseph - a reincarnation of Tom Kurlak, no doubt - not by Intel.

GV,

re: "After first check through the numbers, this earnings statement appears pretty adequate. It doesn't thrill on the upside nor disappoint to the downside."

I'm thrilled. And I suppose SSB is thrilled since they were projecting 3rd quarter GM below 60% for 3rd and 4th quarter. I bet they are very happy with Intels performance and guidance.

So happy, they may have some crow for dinner this evening.

John

GVTucker, <<<this earnings statement appears pretty adequate. It doesn't thrill on the upside nor disappoint to the downside. >>>

I don't know where you are coming from, but lets put this into some kind of perspective:

1. Intel's 3Q net income is nearly twice AMD gross.

2. Intel's 3Q sales growth $1.4B is greater than 3Q AMD total sales.

3. Intel's 63% gross margins is higher than some drug dealers that I know.

Intel is sitting in the center of the Internet infrastructure buildout with few analysts really interested in finding out what that is all about.

How much better can we expect from any company that is providing products and services that are, from all appearances, to be legal.

This earnings statement by any standards on this planet, is a blow out. Only Intel financial management can screw up this announcement. That takes quite some doing.
