Nobody really has paid much attention to Jonathon Joseph anyway.

He made a grandstanding PR play in an attempt to get a halfway decent reputation.

Instead, now they won't pay any attention at all to him.

RE:"I was also shocked by the 64% guidance, I was hoping for 59% based on the price war stuff. Bryant must not have read Heard On the Street this morning."

WS might say the "price war is just heating up", They don't understand price shift.
We are hearing 1.33 Mhz K7s late November early December for about $800. This will put the price structure back in line.
I hope Intel doesn't panic, go nuts, and cut prices too much.
I would hope they will price the 1.4-1.5 Ghz P4s in that range. They don't really have to be that competitive with them as the volume won't be there and they will be shipping $70 with each. On top of that Dell will be getting a reduced price. Then P4s won't hurt margins relative to previous high end Intel chips. Maybe then Intel can limp on to the next chipset for P4 and still maintain margin or not let it drop too much under 60%...
