Otellini says P4 ramp will be very steep in Q101, steeper than PII was. He's comparing to PII because that was the last big design change.

John,

In the past two years, IBM has missed nearly every time ML went out of their way with positive comments. This time, the analyst actually raised numbers ahead of the earnings release, in the past, the analyst talked up the possibility of upside, (once boosted the price target the morning of earnings and regretted it a few hours later), but never made any changes to the model.

I would guess that the information wasn't available for the ML analyst. If I remember correctly, ML used to be right on on IBM numbers.

He had used up all his "Lifelines" and the SEC had used up all his chances for him to "call a friend". :)
