There is a place for river boat gamblers in the stock market. I think of myself as a river boat gambler. They were always looking for a way to make the odds work for them. Right now I'm looking for the same thing.

On a positive note, IBM said:
``On a positive note, our services business continued to overtake the Y2K pause that pressured the first half of the year. Our PC business rebounded strongly, with particularly good demand for our server and ThinkPad products. In addition, our business in Asia continued to grow strongly,'' Mr. Gerstner said.

'particularly good demand for our server and ThinkPad products' should help the boxmakes, and as we all know, CPQ is really just a 'boxmaker'

Also, in older pr's CPQ already stated that 'Our worldwide momentum is clearly continuing and European demand is currently tracking within our expectations,'' said Peter Blackmore, Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, Compaq Computer Corporation.' and 'The head of Compaq Computer Corp's consumer business said he saw no signs of declining sales in home computers despite analyst forecasts that PC shipments will slip in 2000 and 2001.', (although I can't find any statement on business sales.)

BTW, looks like the DOW will open below 10k tomorrow.......
