PS jim p - agree on the high potential of an extension of the Oil cycle - 'cause there aint no "Nat Gas Cartel".... but; the risk is that the Street sells even the Oil levered plays off in sympathy/baby out with the bathwater etc... don't know if I'd have the guts to hold NEV, or VPI etc into a general NG led E&P selloff. Don't think the Oilier names particularly fared all that well in last Sept's E&P meltdown.

- actually; the good news in the extension of the Oil cycle past the NG correction; is that the driller & service cycle will continue to show positive eps growth thru the later stages of the cycle.

The "only" way I at this time anticipate being in the oilpatch past May-June of next year (because of overall Market risk capping the OSX) is if we get a really upside surprise in the extension of the Crude cycle which could take the drillers to that RDC $4.00 eps & $6.00 NBR eps type of peak earnings potential - obviously on the way to those targets OSX 200 would be a potentiality...

All in all; I'm waiting for the break of the NG leg & watching API supply levels for crude to break back thru 285 M boe - 290 M boe with the trend heading upward thru 300 - that will be the exit point & the end to the upside move in crude imo. - watch the API supply levels.... 285 M boe & less = $25-$35 sustained Crude & a sustained Oilpatch cycle; but a move thru 300 M boe by May (which I think we may see) signals the exit point & the entry to the short side.... in which we'll see those quick & easy 90 day doubles & 3 baggers once again; just this time - it'll be on the downside...

Cyclicals - ya gotta love 'em

I can only imagine the food fights when the time to short the patch en masse` arrives...
