Different for stocks. They actually expire on Saturday, so the last you can trade the option itself is on Friday afternoon, 2 minutes after the 4:00 close in the stock market. If you don't sell 'em and they are in the money, or out for that matter, then you can exercise your right under the contract. And the options boyz get together on Sat and allocate all the called or put stock around to the writers.

It is a big shagging difference you better get straight if you are flying into the teeth of expiry. -ng-
