I suggest you take the first two courses at Pristine.com, so you can follow this brief analysis... The pattern on BRCM is a basic Head and Shoulder Top...The left shoulder can be measured during the month of July 2000..The pattern is 220 by 260...The Head is located in August 2000 and its measurements are 270 by 220..The Right shoulder has taken place in September 2000 and measures 260 by 220...The basic neckline as someone mentioned on this thread is at 220...Measuring the basic pattern with the head and neckline you get 270 by 220, with technical downside to 170...Some professional traders would also refer to this pattern as three little indians..See TIE chart back to July and August of 1999... The 20 day moving average sits at 234.027 and the 50 day at 238.856...The stock is below both of these averages and continues to slowly move down... Using the MACD Histogram chart, you will observe on the first top the greatest force and highest peak..However, with the Head, you will notice a higher price, but lower peak..This is a bearish divergence..Secondly, if you put up an RS chart it shows 3 declining peaks with the negative trendline across the top still in place... I have already made very nice profits on this stock, and will re-enter on the short side should it move back to my short areas of 231 or 242.50....I am hoping that there will be some sort of earnings run that I can short into...If not, I plan to stand aside on it and hopefully collect a cigar from Ig... A technical analyst does not just use one indicator to tell the story on a stock..If I took your advice, I wouldn't be making any money but losing my shirt, which I have done, I might add and twice in the past 10 years... Regards and if you want to attack, leave the name calling aside and hit me with more TA....Mark
