premarket sunw 104, emc 86, msft 49 intc 35 ibm 97

We all better put aside our differences and root for a msft positive surprise or positive guidance this quarter or we will all go down together. This maybe a turning point in the market in any case. 7 straight weeks down to me equals controlled panic selling. Earnings are interpeted negatively regardless of whether they are or not. Somewhere over the next few days I hope, a bell will go off and the bears will have made their final dollars on this trip down. Even if it begins as only a relief rally we should get a bounce. I suspect we will start building slowly but hopefully it will become the next phase of the bull market that really started back in 86 or so.

Re: "I own SUNW though and rather than swap out of a percentage of SUNW to diversify into EMC, I hold SUNW (which is also getting into that space) and find diversification into storage that way. -JCJ "

What the pc (and MSFT) did to the mainframe (and IBM) Windows2000 will do to SUNW's proprietary stubborn attitude that it has the enterprise locked!

P.S. Rome wasn't build in a day. It just will seem that way on the day it happens.

JC, you have identified a trend which has been going on for some time. Software is getting devalued and hardware companies had been doing better. I think the trend is about to change. Also SUNW can't keep up with the growth rates of the last 2 years. The stock is going to crater in the next 12 months and it wouldn't be because of MSFT.
