Wouldn't want to speculate on motives. But most positions should probably be explored by hypotheticals. What programs are in place to handle the full term severely retarded or those born with painful or usually fatal conditions.

I'm inclined to minimize suffering when I can. Arresting a birth when it has the same or less biological nervous development than that of a shrimp seems to be preferable to having a full term infant with a horrible condition.

If my mom was dying, I'd want her to have access to the best narcotics available. I've experienced severe pain. I want the best medicine can provide.

My next logical step was to explore the harm of bearing children into an environment where they would have a 90% chance of being impoverished and malnourished. Birth control seems to be the optimum method, but many who don't support abortion get queasy when it comes to supplying birth control. How much harm should we allow ourselves to prevent?
