Harrah's Seeks Reduced Lease Payments
Harrah's New Orleans casino is asking a bankruptcy judge to review a plan to reduce the casino's annual lease payment to the city.

The city promised to cut the casino's annual tax payment from $20 million to $15 million, but executives with JCC Holding, the company that owns and operates Harrah's, say that the proposed reductions have no real value.

The company wants the court to calculate the real savings and require the city to come up with additional cuts equal to $5 million.

If an agreement is not reached, a hearing will be held Oct. 30 to decide the matter.
