I think it is a reasonable analysis. Even taking it at face value, Independents would have favored Bush in 2 out of three debates, and 48% would have considered that he won or tied in this one, so it it still difficult to predict how it will settle out with them. Speculatively, it is my impression that most Independents lean Republican, and therefore we will pick more of them up in the end........
