It looks like you want to tax anyone many a living to support more social programs that Gore says are necessary. You want to take away our choices of how to spend disposal income.
I believe it is important to note Cheney paid significant taxes, earlier on this thread one poster was saying the rich didn't pay taxes. Now I see it isn't that they don't pay taxes but it get's back to taxing as much as possible.

Who are you to presume what other people "need"?

Can't you and your Big Government as Big Brother politicos stay out of people's lives, bedrooms and wallets?

Re: "If you're that rich, you don't need a tax refund..."
I disagree.

People who are that rich are usually those who know best where capital should be employed. A large tax refund could be reinvested to capitalize a new company that might find the cure for cancer. Or fund a charitable foundation. Or establish an educational scholarship. Etc., etc.

You surely MUST have overlooked this in the article:
To rank in the top 10%, your income had to be at least $83,220.
For the top 50%, your income had to be at least $25,491.

The question isn't just about how much tax, David....it's about WHAT and WHY the taxes are being allocated....
