Thanks, but no thanks. Unless I could report directly to Craig Barrett, the job is virtually impossible. You could probably write the book on that one.

In theory, however, the job is a no brainer. It is the company founded and led by legends Noyce, Moore, Grove, et al. Noyce should have won the Nobel prize for Physics. And, Intel, arguably is the most successful technology company on the planet. It has positioned itself at the center of the Internet and Information technology world.

Yet, Wall Street is starting to paint Intel as an old economy dinosaur. Critics are babbling hand held devices, broadband technology, and fibre optics - as if they had a clue what they are talking about.

In theory to turn this around should be a slam dunk, but reality may be a little bit different.
