<font color=green>A.M. Best Sr. VP Larry Mayewski's comments were VERY positive!!!
"Mayewski said Best believes Conseco has made a lot of progress on its quest to regain its ``A-'' rating from the rating agency. Last month, A.M. Best changed the outlook on Conseco's rating to ``positive'' from ``negative'' after the insurer announced a deal with its banks to extend about $2 billion in debt.
``It's our view they've already achieved a lot of what they set out to do,'' said Mayewski. He stopped short of saying that Conseco could expect to get its A- rating back.
In the meantime, investors are waiting for Conseco's third quarter earnings Oct. 25. The insurer is expected to report third- quarter operating earnings of 23 cents a share against 66 cents a share a year ago, according to a survey by First Call/Thomson Financial.
``The insurance companies are operating within the band of expectations, which is positive."

OT/donjuan demarco:brother, <vbg>.Follow up from last week:

I had to mention this, because I've never seen
anyting like it, <vbg>

My son ,( 16 AP subjects, math genius )...

...took the ACTs today.

I asked " how did it go?"

-"Ok" he said," but I forgot my Graphics Calculator
in school; Everybody had one but me.
I only had a small,regular, hand-held 2X2 pocket
calculator which sucked and so I didn't use it ".

- " So what did you do? " I asked.

-" Well, I did all calculations by hand; they where easy ".

=================

Amazing.

Last week (Oct. 18, )I said:

"all bloated stocks will hit the dust:
The CRSCOs INTCs, MSFTs,
... JDSUs....
eBay and YHOOs with BLOATED PEs.
"

which is what happened.JDSU and optics tanked under their
top-heavy PEs.

I also mentioned that HealthCare will torpedo The Market.

After returning from my meeting I more convinced of that than ever.

At the meeting, I saw a tremendous amount of technology for HealthCare.

The latest:

From
- Fiberoptic Instrumentation , to
-Monitoring in real time using new software and
algorhythms for rapid decision making and intervention.
-Microscopic Techniques and Surgery with tiny Instruments
-Genetic Engineering for new drugs
-Machines that will ventilate patients using minimal
input from Healthcare professionals ( but very expensive ).

It will take probably 15 years for my son to finish and
master all this.

We are now able to do all kinds of surgery on people as
old as 88 or 90.

As we get older, The AMOUNT of MEDICAL Therapies needed
however INCREASES exponentially.

So that
The FINAL BILL
will be,

ASTRONOMICAL.

(currently I looked up a recent offer for employment on the Intenet
for an Orthopedic Surgeon.
I can't post the link because of technical problems today.
But the link appears to be this:

physemp.com

They offer ( for Orthopedic Surgery with Sports Medicine interst ):

full payment of Med School tuition up to $120,000
-signing bonus
-generous relocation allowance
-a $1,000,000 a year private medicine practice.

VERY FEW can afford this.

MOST of US though are not ready to kick the bucket.

And therein lies the problem:

We are never ready to die, but we can't afford
the payments to remain alive and wish for somebody
else to foot the bill.So far it's been our neighbors
and children.Soon it will be the grandchildren and the unborn through

GIANT , UNPAID,

NATIONAL DEBTS.

Nasdaq of 2000 to 2500?

Very possible,

(this is also in answer to kevin:http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14678984 )

Health care, Stockmarket and CNC:Some thoughts:

I promised I would jot a few words about healthcare and how it will " affect "
read: " TORPEDO " this stock market.

It has been said that
" Nobody knows what will torpedo a bull market until after the event ".

I think this is true for this bull market.
Nobody thought of Healthcare as torpedoing this bull
but in fact it will.

Take my case. My son wants to be a doc in spite of my
repeated advice he be something else .He could
have been anything else he wanted he is so bright.
But his mind is made up and wants to be a doc.

So I told him:

“ Son, this nation cannot afford you. However if you are
going to be a doc you might as well be a doc of the 21st
century, which is high tech.

So what you need is a double undergrad degree.
A BS in Chem.Engineer. plus a Master of Science
in BioMedical Engineer. A 5 year program offered
in some Universities.
Then you go to Medical School and be a Heart Surgeon.
( which is what he wants to be ).

What will happen after that?
Here it is:
ama-assn.org
“Physicians build a hospital of their own “.

This article I think is of seminal importance:
It shows the future of medicine and has important
implications for the economy and the market.
I will continue in another post,

What this article shows

ama-assn.org
“Physicians build a hospital of their own “.

is that HIGH SKILL physicians are:
-getting tired of the bs of the last 20 years

-are striking out ON THEIR OWN.

-they have the knowledge, skill and money to build
their own “ Specialty “ Hospitals
( cardiac, spine and orthopedics )

-they DON’T need “ AN ADMINISTRATOR “

-These specialty Hospitals are for “ CASH ONLY “patients.
ie there are no Emergency rooms where morons like
YHOO poster shortin_CNC_to_zero who lost money shortin
cnc and has No Insurance coverage, can just walk in
an ER and think he’ll get care which is what happens
in the US today. The Specialty Hospitals will be closed to him.

-This will “ skim the cream at the top “ from the public hospitals
who are now taking care of all the drug, substance abuse,
alcoholics, gang members shot in the street, HIV homosexuals
all people very often with no insurance but HIGH cost of care.

-It will stop moneys from going into religious hospitals
who have gone silently from “ non-profit “ to
“stealth for profit “ and are building palace shopping
centers and perks for “the religiously inclined physicians
in the inner group “.

Thus HMOs and folks with poor insurance because they would rather
invest in Stock Market High PE dot.coms than buy
good health insurance, will get no coverage, until
they do buy good Insurance. That will be very expensive.

When the public finally figures out that
“there is no free lunch in America “
and that they have to pay for what they get
( my son will be very expensive when he gets
out to practice at age 32 ),
thye Stock Market will go in Diet Regime to
get rid of the fat.

Then all bloated stocks will hit the dust:
The CRSCOs INTCs, MSFTs, JDSUs
eBay and YHOOs with BLOATED PEs...........
