OT> Kaliico, it really is like building race cars. . .everything can be tweaked. We can set the clock rate ahead quite a bit to optimal performance. . . and with 200MHz bus, we can run the 133MHz memory at optimal speed. . the many mirrored drives are like 4.5ns. . .full site back-ups will occur regularly. . .and our rack-full of servers will be protected by a massive UPS to keep us running until the generators kick on in the case of a blackout. And the whole farm sits on a hub right on top of UUnet, Sprint and Cable and Wireless network lines. . . meaning that the data takes something like 1 millisecond to get out to the net. And it searches the fastest route to anywhere. . . and if one network is having problems, it immediately switches out to a competing network. We are assuming we'll come under continuous attack and are prepared for that as well. I could go on and on. . . .but suffice it to say that every detail of technical specifications have been considered and re-considered. . .so that nothing comes as a surprise at a time when we cannot afford surprises.
