Tony, last I heard TI's executives said they expected to meet earnings this quarter, although this quarter is usually a softer quarter for them. TI is a diversified company. They sell calculators and all sorts of DSP chips. They are also into DSL, RFD and other things. I'll have to look at their annual report to see what they are up to.

The only explanation that I can come up with for these downgrades is that it is "a bear market."

I expect AMAT's earnings to be good as well because if they were not up to expectations I believe Mr. Morgan would have said so.

When investors react negatively to both good and bad earnings, I don't know what else to say except that "it is a bear market."
