still OT...sorry, bill. just one other point... can anyone name another broad sector that doesn't spend more on marketing than they do on R&D (gee, even our quasi-government postal service advertises in a BIG way)? maybe technology stocks, as a whole...but i'd think that would even be VERY close. i've been to countries where the pharmaceuticals are governed by the state...it isn't pretty! try getting a second generation antibiotic in Russia, for example. yes, the free market is a very wicked thing! maybe Gore can squash it for us. anyone who thinks the pharmaceutical company should be robbed of its desire to actually do R&D is in a fantasy world. oh, i forgot, that's the same guy who was going to provide "universal, government sponsored, healthcare". wow, what other candy can he give away to the kids so you can rot their teeth out?
