Just send me Hockey Night in Canada! I grew up in the Detroit area watching the Leafs every Wed and Sat, and I miss the heck out of it where I am now!

BTW, maybe CAnada should merge with the US, then the Oilers, Flames and Canucks (and maybe even the Canadiens) will be able to stay in the Great White North.

Thanks, that was very interesting. On a transatlantic flight, I sat next to a young woman Quebecoise (?) who is studying in Paris, and who was visiting her family in Montreal. Her English was nearly perfect, and she seemed very sweet, but she said that she preferred Quebec City to Montreal because it was more French, which I took to mean had fewer "other Canadians". It struck me forcibly how much she wanted that cocoon.

As it happens, I knew several Canadians who went to my college, and I would say that roughly half had "attitude" about not being mistaken for American. The other half would have liked to be American just fine........
