...server software... revenue --- Hey, I'm not even sure about *that. The number one server software is FREE. Number 2 is a distant 2nd and not particularly trending. --- Clearly, there's a market for branded services. "Software" in the MS context is over. --- Even Sun (iPlanet/Netscape) isn't moving the ball much against Apache marketshare. It'll never be a huge line item for them (IMO) as McNealy once hoped. --- Sun is going a different direction now, very purposefully accelerating the dilution of software value and leveraging 'open standards' and 'open source' development into something brandable. --- MS can't get to a distributed (services) model fast enough. No I mean they can't get there fast enough (literally). <g> -JCJ
