Did anyone watch the debate last night? I heard that it was raining after it was over and as the candidates were
leaving George W. asked for an umbrella. Apparently Mr. Gore just lost it. He went into a rage saying: "This is an
area where we have huge differences. Umbrellas are a tool of the richest 1%. The richest of the rich own and
control most of the umbrellas in this country. And in fact, when I was at a Texas umbrella factory yesterday I
learned that Texas is 49th of the 50 states in terms of umbrellas per capita. Yes, it is at the bottom. Texas children
are getting wet, while fat cat oil men are staying dry. It's just not fair. I pledge that if I am elected your President I
will make it my first order of business to buy a raincoat for every one of the people in the bottom 99% in this
country. We will no longer need umbrellas, and when we see one we will know that the person under it is the
richest of the rich - and we can spit on them."
