well, at the moment there's the perception that Uncle's superior military hardware equals a permit to bully whoever needs bullying. however, what's not so well known is that the military has fallen into a state of sloth and disrepair under the fearless cigar wielder. proof of this can only be obtained by having two or three major geopolitical crises flaring up simultaneously...e.g. ME, Taiwan...sooner or later this test will come. and then there's the financial vulnerability of the supertanker...Uncle owns the house, but the rest of the world holds the mortgage on it. my bet is that Uncle will ultimately default, in tried and true fashion.
