I'll let you know after the call...again, they did beat their revenue number, which is terrific. But investment income will be an issue as it has been for the last few quarters. I think Rick (GS) may be willing to look past this if he gets positive guidance looking forward.

Regardless, this report will not let the shorts sit comfortably with their positions for long in the stock because of the *revenue* performance, and I think there will be a lot of short covering during this afterhours window and possibly heading into tomorrow morning. Having said this, however, for the stock to be able to sustain a rebound, I believe MSFT will have to provide *positive* guidance looking forward, not their normal cautious tone of "the world's coming to an end!"

Sorry for the <OT> discussion, folks.

t2, the market should do well tomorrow...and the short covering should pick up steam heading into Friday.

Key notes from the MSFT conference call:

-Overall, the outlook for Q4 is positive
-Growth rates projected in the teens
-Revenue estimated at $6.8B
-Comfortable with .49c next Q

Things are looking up :)
