ST,

ReI don't recall a warning from TXN.

I was referring to the decrease in outlook for worldwide handset sales that took place this summer(not by TXN- just an industry forecast)

As for AMD's comments, the article came out today but the interview took place who knows when? Perhaps they are not as involved in Europe as Intel is. I cannot say why AMD said that; it would be only conjecture.

Sun, I listened to the Intel conference call last night and, when asked about PC growth, Paul Otellini said Intel doesn't predict it, but IDC does. Otellini said IDC has PC growth predicted for 16 to 17% for 2001. That's not slowing. Otellini is Intel's VP and GM for Intel architecture (microprocessor) products. IDC is the most respected survey group that there is on computers.

Like Brian says, not all chip companies are created equal.
