I like Confederate Railroad's fun songs, but "Jesus and Mama" is beautiful. That one I really like. Danced to it a lot. I found a version of "When Something is Wrong with my Baby" by Travis Tritt and Patti Labelle. Pretty good, but a bit rocking for that tune for me at times. I think Labelle and Aaron Neville would be awesome together doing it, though I do like Tritt's voice.

Oh, "When you leave that way" is a nice one by Confederate Railroad, too.

The tube is avoided for now if she gets through another week without the thorax collapsing again. Public service announcement... there can be serious complications from being intibated. If you have trouble breathing afterwards, go to the emergency room. Don't get treated for ashma and sent home, make sure you get an ENT to check your throat. There can be both scar tissue that can eventually close your throat or you can get a condition that causes the thorax to collapse. They don't tell you that, at least our doctors didn't. Scary stuff. Hospitals are scary places these days.

Okay how's this for a happy tune? Not the norm, I reckon, but it's what I can up with. And, no, it's not dedicated to you, but thanks for the assist. <g>

autumn came
with a beauty
that reminded me
of love
and tender days
i took my pen
and bottle of wine
to the forest
with thoughts
of the song you long for
that i long to give you
a tune of joy
and harmony
sitting with the trees
eyes closed
listening to the gentle
melody of dancing leaves
for the words
my heart used to know
so well
is it enough
to tell you
that the thought of you
is the warm touch
on my shoulder
the breeze
that brushes my hair
the feel of you
next to me
is the spark
that touches a heart
so long turned
from this world
that your fingertips
tracing the scars
that tell my story
bring a healing
beyond the pain
as i sit in an ocean
of glowing gold
and flaming red
swirling about me
these are the words
of my heart
for you
