Their revenues seem to be growing nicely. If they weren't near the top, the growth wouldn't be there.

The basic concept seems to be that VIAD trails Top Tier in vision, but is far ahead of them on execution, and leads everyone else in vision. Similarly they trail CA, IBM, and Oracle in execution, but are far ahead of them in vision. On the whole, VIAD is in the best position to take the leading position in the market. The other competitors who are close to moving into the "magic quadrant" are Plumtree and Sybase, followed by Epicentric, KnowledgeTrack, and Top Tier.

I gather that the norm is for smaller companies to develop the vision and then try to execute, while the big guys tend to execute a lesser vision first and then copy features from the leaders, moving into the "magic quadrant" by way of the challenger box.
