JXM, I have the current malaise as only a prelude to a real bear market next year. Writing CC makes a lot of sense, but even then you must be nimble and remember to cover when we get a spill and rewrite on the bounce. I have been doing that for some time with MRK. I covered the last CC early in September when it refused to breach $65 and am now naked on this, because I think that MRK could at least challenge its high from 99 (in the high 80') and if it goes through make a dash to above $100 before its settles again into the then overbearing bear market.
