I think it's somewhat ironic that free-marketers like you and me are communicating over a medium that probably wouldn't existed without heavy government subsidy. I'd like to see a free market solution to supply internet to the Third World, and I don't mean cities like Singapore, I mean places that don't even have phone service. But I don't see impoverished Third Worlders buying cell phones and PCs, I think they are going to get Internet through their schools, hospitals, and government buildings.
