Bill Clinton (the current President -- remember him?) is an admitted technology dimwit. Can he type? Does it matter?<<< I wasn't writing about Clinton, was I. If you'd noted my "LOL" at the end of my sentence about whether Bush can type or not, you'd know my statement was meant only as humorous wonder. Didn't need a serious reply as to whether Clinton can type or not. You think I was serious about whether Bush can type, or not? Can he? Can Gore? I don't know. You think it's possible Gore can type faster than Bush can think? >>>2. The Republican Congress has enacted all sorts of legislation facilitating technology and commerce for the 21st century.<<< I wasn't referring to other Republicans. I was referring to Bush...beyond his typing ability. Can he well think technology issues is what I'd worry about him. Gore's in a better place for that. The very fact GOPwingers assigned a role for Gore close to the Internet's expansion is proof enough he made a significant contribution. Accepting it or not seems to depend on your party designation? >>>3. It might be much wiser to employ Al Gore, who invented the internet, in the private sector where he might be able to assist with resurrection of the fallen dot.com's, who obviously are not prospering under the current regime.<<< Nicely put, in a fun way. However, Gore's more apt to nurture technology to levels well beyond the domain, noting your SI alias name, of the Selectric II typewriter. Actually, this is a good way to describe a difference between the two candidates: Bush, a dual-pitched, self-correcting IBM Selectric II, whereas Gore's been online for a long time. >>>4. Why are you looking to Europe for leadership or as an example? We broke away from England a couple of centuries ago, to become the world leader, not follower. When I was in school, Europe was called "the Old World." Do you want to go back? LOL.<<< Wasn't looking to Europe for leadership. I guess you shouldn't put me into a statement I didn't make. I simply asked how many European leaders are liberal ones? I didn't notice an answer in your reply. Next, how innovative would America be if today it elected a conservative? Why go backwards at a time when more nations wannna move forwards? Conservatives normally impede progress. So do liberals. But the difference between Bush and Gore is like night and day as far as technological progress is concerned. By the way, Clinton (a technological dimwit, as you say) knew well enough to leave the tech stuff to Gore, always better than Clinton on technology. So where's Bush in all this? Regarding your mention of Britain? Don't know what you're writing about, regarding your British thing.
