Nostaw likes X but he never has to program in it.

Once upon a time their was the old way and the new and improved way. How does one show the old way and the new way side by side. Well dual display of course. But only Linux has X dual display. Well lets create a radar display application the old way and display it on one screen and create another application that shows the new way. Old way was a simple about 512x512 radar image with overlaid tack data. Simple variation of an image viewer. New way was to auto screen adjusted size of 50kx50k down sampled image fitted with switched on visuals of tactical areas of zoom and two separate but integrated widows showing magnification of selected area of interest. Areas of interest determined by mathematics beyond my comprehension. But this system using pentium pro 200 processing was absolutely done-able and that's a fact. Great demonstration as one could show the old actual and by sliding the cursor with a leap through the air show the new in an instant. Video card were matrox for dual but power of trident was that was required.
