24+ billion in cash and short term investments is tremendous. Too bad they garnered it by abusing their monopoly power and it will soon be chopped up into little pieces. Enjoy it while you have it. You have just made the governments case.

Off to Las Vegas, later, Bob.

You're not really up on current events, are you? Microsoft operating earnings down slightly (2777 vs. 2789),

Obviously YOU are not up on current events, or you would have heard of the Fantastic Pipeline MSFT has from the CC. One filled with products that are going to eat away at SUNW and ORCL(in fact they already are). You can only charge a premium for so long before competition comes in.

I wouldn't worry about "LE and SM" if I were you.

The only thing I worry about with these two is wondering if the dumpsters are padlocked in Redmond. Wouldn't want one of these two stealing a Great Idea, would we? And why are they so focused on MSFT and Bill? Shouldn't they only concern themselves with running their business?

I won't lose any sleep over their problems, but there's no doubt that LE and SM are getting worried. It's only a matter of time before MSFT dominates the server / enterprise market like they dominate the PC space. IMO
