re: NAS-DQ-DAK-DAQUE variants

Language changes, of course, over time. All of the 'judgement'/'judgment', 'colour'/'color' aberrations took a few years to grow into accepted use. Nothing is more important to timliness than the concept of 'now'. As it stands, the correct usage at this time should probably be NASDUCK, as in:

1. Sitting duck
2. Ducking is what you should be doing now
3. Roasted duck, which is what I won't be having for Christmas dinner this year.
4. Duck and Cover, the 1950's trained reaction to nuclear disaster.
5. Scrooge McDuck, the Disney investing mogul who has all the money I used to have last week.
6. DUCK! Only because it's more polite than F---!

"The second occurrence of "NASDAQUE" appears to be in a dialect of English with which I am somewhat unfamiliar. "

Frightening, but in that context it almost makes sense to me.

One altavista hit for 'nazdung', on the SI amzn thread, and one hit for 'nasdung', on the All Clowns Must Be Destroyed thread.

Just thought i'd check after a post on India Coffee House brought it to mind ... somehow i don't think altavista is getting them all -g-
