The government's case is as good as gone.

I just read the book by MSFT titled InsideOut Microsoft-In Our Own Words. They list one of their great accomplishment in FY 2000 as integrating the internet into their products. IMO, integrating the internet into software products is obviously what the market wanted and MSFT simply met this requirement. All of the other software manufacturers have done the same thing (apple, linux, etc.) So, MSFT met the needs of the consumer and adapted their software to match a technological advancement.

Now, what did the DOJ take them to court on? That's right, integrating the internet into their OS software.

What kind of logic is that? The DOJ is done. MSFT will prevail. Maybe by the time the case is resolved, the technology will have changed so much that an OS so called monopoly won't even matter. It might be a long time before the DOJ figures this out, but the stock market will figure it out in due time and the case will be factored OUT of the stock price. IMO
