Why do you say that it will be considered obnoxious?

I am still learning in this market. But something that I am beginning to pickup is that if an individual (especially trader) who cannot make money on a stock in both directions (of the stock movement), cannot be a player even investing/trading in just one direction.

In other words, if one cannot decide at what point a stock is a short and at what point its an aggressive buy, you better leave the market to people who can- cause they will take your money anyway.

If all one see's is a flashing NEON sign that says B-U-Y, how will you know when to sell and lock in your profits?

So you won't get any hell from me.

TG
(unless you suggest that PALM is a short- in which case I'll hunt you down to the end of this planet ;)- HeHe just kidding).

Mr. Ando became president in June and is under great pressure to streamline Sony's core consumer-electronics products. He is also tasked with boosting new services that combine the Internet with Sony's electronics products.
One example he cited is the recent launch of Sony's
Clie handheld computer based on Palm Inc.'s operating systems. Sony hopes to turn that unit into a device for playing online games and downloading video images.

I need to find answers to the following questions re: Hand before we can make some intelligent decisions :

1. when is the lock-up release date ?

2. How many shares are available for trading now ?

3. How many shares are available for trading after the release ?

Andre:

Don't forget the lockup expiration on HAND that will occur around 12/15/00. If what we saw with the bogus PALM lockup expiration is any guide, we can expect at least a 20% haircut in HAND prior to that point. So shorting HAND (or buying puts) a month or so prior to that date might be profitable. Then you could get a serious spike up in HAND as we go into the mid January 2001 earnings report for Q2.

Just a thought. Personally, I have a hard time shorting stocks, I'm more inclined to buy a few puts.
