I don't. McCain seems to have too much of a short fuse. I wouldn't want someone with a short fuse to be Secretary of Defense.

Frank,

I have to agree and that would be my first choice. Its his area of strength and he could be of tremendous value to W with his experience. The public listens when McCain speaks about matters of war.

My only concern was any lasting personal friction. I did not see McCain in a role that would require him in the White House everyday.
