Thanks Kilo.....

>>I am also one of those who believes that the Utah culture is a serious hindrance to Novell's success.

So all that said, what do I think about one of the caching OEMs expanding its offering? That's great, but it's far too meaningless overall to be impactful.

I don't want this to sound as though I've just handed down summary judgment about this company. But until something radical happens, Novell's future doesn't look too bright.

The thing is, the rest of the world is moving so much more quickly than Utah. Sure, there are a few visionary technologists out there by the rendering plant, but the fact remains that technology is not driving this economy-- new business models are. Novell simply cannot comprehend that statement.>>

Your last post spoke VOLUMES!

Ever since Nelson locked down his power in early '99 Novell seems to have been closing down and shutting off as if to protect some "other agenda."

Now we do know that those $.10 options are just part of this agenda.

But your comments about Novell's culture seem to go to the heart of this matter.

Everywhere I look there's growing evidence that Utah's culture is coming under serious attack all over the world.

There are just too may of these "dirty little secrets", hidden agendas and "oh by the way" revelations that cannot be sustained for very long in a world that's massively transforming to open models driven by these new service energies that demand transparency.

A "new" outside guard must emerge inside and outside Novell to take it in these new directions.

For I see them killing themselves right now. There's an almost self-destructive force in their culture that will destroy their own before there is any chance of anyone coming out alive to see a better day of forgiveness and light.

You either get swallowed up in this system or you get spit out. There doesn't seem to be any open balance with these folks.

I'm really surprised that Eric has lasted so long.

I'm still a believer in Eric. But he's got a culture rot that represents a massive challenge.

All it would take is for ONE person to step up and say GO!!! instead of NO!!!!

Peace.

GO!!

Kilo....

You are a point of clarity.

I hope others inside and outside Novell take what you have shared in a positive way.

I'm not attacking this culture thing so much as I'm trying to embrace and love it in order to understand a "way out" for more of this great technology to come into the light of day.

We were moving in this direction up until early '99 and then something happened.

The managers and executives who have been shutting down this company need to be shown the door.

Peace.

GO!!
