"That used to be the shorter's dream play "

I've found a stock in its death throes to be anything but a dream situation. Fluctuations up of 300-400% and sometimes more are not uncommon. Sticking with the Iridium example, it was obvious to all but the brain dead that stock was going out worthless in late 1999, but that didn't stop it from running from less than 2 to 6 1/2ish. The company even announced in a PR and filed an 8K with the SEC stating the stock was going to be worthless, and it still more than tripled. That's not the stuff my short selling dreams are made of. -g-
