Harry,
it's not much but a start.

marketguide.com

Down at the bottom is a "What's Hot" link to sectors and industries.

Harry,

This is a good site for sectors:

host.wallstreetcity.com

Lowest measure is 1 day, but you click on the chart and you can get the indivual stocks in the sector, pretty cool set up.

Good luck,

John

PS I am thinking of doing more sector based investing. Do you know of a good site, or good software which tells you the hottest sectors in the last fifteen minutes or so, and the hottest sectors for the last 24 hrs, 1 wk, etc. Or do you know where I can get a listing of all indexs, (oil, precious metal, etc.) Also futures and trin indexes.

Harry,

Investors Business Daily, both the newspaper and its web site.....www.investorbusinessdaily.com. Normally the website requires you to be either a member or a subscriber but right now they're testing their beta software, so anyone can use the site.
