VIANET has a robust Linux development portfolio which covers a wide range of Applications for still and video imaging. Some of their products include -- Video Messenger and Video Messenger Pro, video e-mail applications for consumers and corporations, respectively. -- Power Zoom, an application that creates layers of resolution within online images and allows the user to dig deep into images. -- Video Interactive (video conferencing). -- Video Streaming (live and on demand). -- Starswitch & Stardriver, Vianet's fiber-to-the-home solution. They have a strategic agreement with SAIC who is a top drawer integrator for federal applications. My guess is that a Project has been designed by SAIC that needs fiber distribution of training applications so I suspect SAIC has a big military or other federal agency contract where MRVC gear is specified, but must be integrated with these tools. They have a bunch of interesting press releases.
