Why Are there so many Bullish Posts compared to Bearish Posts in the AMAT Thread?

The obvious reason is that people here find it more rewarding to earn money the Bullish way. than the Bearish way… but is it not for the benefit of the whole Thread to have a balanced number of Bull and Bear Posts? Probably, but let's look first at how the Bull and the Bear fared during the last 5 years. Let's assume the Bull and the Bear's Timing in Buying and Selling Short respectively were Perfect!.: ---

!995-96 Bear market: --- Sold Short at 119 3/4 (59 7/8 post-split) … Covered at 21 3/4 = 63.67% + 5% interest = let's just round it to a profit of 70%.

1996-97 Bull market: --- Bought at 21 3/4 … sold at 108 3/8 (54 3/16) post-split = 398.28% profit.

1997-98 Bear market: --- Sold Short at 54 3/16 … covered at 21 9/16 = 60.21% + 5% interest = let's just round it to a profit of 70%.

1998-00 Bull market: --- Bought at 21 9/16 … sold at 230 (115 post-split) = 966.67% profit.

2000 Bear market (assuming the bottom was reached at 40 1/2 recently): --- Sold Short at 115 … Covered at 40 1/2 = 64.78% or just round it to a profit of 70%.

2000 New Bull market: --- Bought at 40 1/2 … to be sold later at a profit of close to 400% profit or close to 1000% profit?, time will tell.

As we can see the Bull fared a lot better than the Bear in their respective Investment Techniques, so it's not at all unbelievable that there are a lot more Bullish Posts here. The Consensus formed in this Thread is to Invest the Bullish way. So Bulls are attracted to this tha AMAT Thread. .. Just an opinion but as a Bull, reading too much Bear Posts (when I know everything will be OK later) is like indulging in Self-Flagellation. Because I know that CHIPs are not recyclable and need to be replaced (like it's edible counterpart - the Potato Chip is eaten and not recycled ) and that we Need CHIPs the more and more in the future and because AMAT makes and sells majority of those machines that make the CHIPs --- so why be Bearish when I can do along well by being Bullish all the time and just be patient and wait and then Buy more when the Bears are selling AMAT at Super Bargain prices?

Even if the Bull's Timing was terribly off that he bought at the highest prices at 59 7/8 and 54 3/16 respectively, he still got profits of 81% and 324% --- still ahead the 70% and 70% profits the Bear got in those time periods.
