>>You are unusual. I am at the other extreme.<<

Actually we are probably pretty close in our outlook on spending money on computer power. My Dell replaces a VAR P-100 with a 26K modem.:)
The slow down in PC's will probably fall somewhere between the extremes people are talking about.Companies like Dell will probably make good money but not Gorilla/King amounts.
As much as I like Dell as a company I did sell my Dell position on LindyBill's warning.

Now when are our gorillas and kings going to kick it in gear?<g>

Good points, and add the need for "must have" items like firewalls on those cable modems, local routers for home networks and PDAs, directors for the family napster library into the home's sound system(s), access to multiple printers and the HDTV. More homes want / need them and cheap bandwidth will drive a lot of sales. And, the two-way smart kitchen appliances are another story.

If GMST's promise proves true, we may also be looking at an gatekeeper / integrator device to manage satellite, cable, voice, personalized marketing, data, remote call forward, etc. Lots of hardware still to come, fire up the AmEx...
