Chic:

Don't say a word to them, as you have to live with them. Sooner or later, you are going to be hearing stories such as those already showing up on the Dell thread. No need to attract hate. (NG)

Unfortunately, this is but a shot across the bows in an opening battle.

Short term, I am taking a break and will carry only a few small trash scenes (in case BK arrives unexpectedly).

Election is near and good times must be seen to be at hand. Also, the sheep are already pawing the ground in anticipation of a "relief rally" (thank goodness we got through October). I hope to re-target a bit higher, but recall that I am always too darned "early" (g)

Best, Earlie

Yeah, I don't think that bit of investment saavy would make you the most popular guy around the water cooler, LOL! But, hey, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do!

You could just tell people you invest in options. Which is true, and sounds cool. :)

It's good to take the co-worker resentment danger pretty seriously. Especially important if any of those co-workers have, or might ever have, management power over you.

I am in a similar situation, and I have got a couple of nasty scowls recently when I mention being 100% cash and ahead nicely for the year.

Don't forget, the guy in the next cubicle today may be your manager next year. Or may have sold his house and put half his net worth into Janus funds in March, as my manager did (ouch). Or may have 80% of his net worth in IBM stock, as MANY of your older co-workers do.
