Hi liteglider01,

I've looked into Hyperchip and they seem to be one worth keeping an eye on. They've gotten past proof-of-concept in FPGAs and are taping out the ASIC now. Should be sampling by Christmas, AFAIK. Another company that you may want to keep an eye on is Velio. LightReading had an article on them earlier in the week. Their Website goes live next Monday. What intrigues me is that CIEN and SCMR are already designing slots on their proprietary PCBs in anticipation of the Velio chip. Someone believes this company has an important new advance coming soon.

Best, Ray

For more on HyperChip, check out this audio interview with Richard Norman, President & CEO. Its from July, but probably still relevant (Its the third one down the list).

He makes a convincing case, and thats probably why they continue to get funding.
