I encourage everyone to listen to the webcast conference call for my pick KVH industries. They ended a string of losses today. The CC will be available off the web site for two weeks.

They announced in the CC this morning that they are entering the Optical Networking market and are developing several components within a 12 month timeframe.

One component is a high speed external optical modulator that "encodes data onto fiber via light" that will run at 100Ghz - 10 times faster than anything on the market today.

Dr. Larry Dalton has just joined their advisory board. This appears to be what they are developing.

They have 69 patents now and have applied for 14 more on this new technology.

From the CC they said "This is an enormous market. It is the largest opportunity in front of us today."

They also have a unique and revolutionary fiber optic high voltage current sensor product coming out, and they have been asked to present at a George Gilder conference on Power in December. They anticipate a $500 million/yr market there.

The company is currently perceived as primarily a military equipment provider. It has a $50 (yes 50) million market cap. Not for much longer.

FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc.
(Nasdaq: FTGX), a leading provider of metropolitan optical connectivity, and
360networks (Nasdaq: TSIX and TSE: TSX) today announced a five-year agreement,
with expected revenues of $20 million. FiberNet will provide 360networks with
access to its Metropolitan Transport Networks (MTNs), FiberNet In-building
Networks (FINs), and collocation space in leading carrier hotels.

By utilizing the FiberNet "optical off-ramp" which connects metropolitan carrier
interconnection points and premier office properties, 360networks will have
end-to-end fiber connectivity from their switching centers directly to the
desktops of their customers and to other carriers.

"By collocating in FiberNet's New York City carrier facilities, 360networks can
interconnect its global network with other major carriers," said Les Hankinson,
FiberNet's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "FiberNet will assist
360networks to realize its national expansion plans," he added.

About FiberNet:

FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc. is a carrier's carrier that designs, builds and
operates 100% fiber optic transmission networks in major cities. The company's
Metropolitan Transport Networks (MTNs) link carrier hotels and multi-tenant
office buildings. FiberNet enters into license agreements with nationwide
property owners to design, build, and operate FiberNet In-building Networks
(FINs) within Class A commercial properties.

FiberNet has lit multiple strands of fiber on its MTN throughout New York City,
with plans to introduce its services to other cities. The FiberNet network
utilizes a diversely routed SONET ring architecture that extends from premier
carrier hotels to Class A office buildings equipped with a FIN. By offering
carrier class backbone reliability directly to tenants and carrier premises,
FiberNet is seeking to set a new standard in the speed of local loop delivery
and connectivity of DS1 to OC192, and 10/100b Ethernet circuits. For more

Time to start disagreeing again. I'd wager we wouldn't see much more than we do now even if we weren't in a quiet period.knc
